The prototype for this model has been one of the bestselling locomotives of all time by EMD. Between 1972 and 1989 close to 4,000 units were built. Many of them were bought by more than 30 railroads, and others are still in use today. This EMD SD40-2 Santa Fe #5020 is fitted with Bachmann’s Econami Sound Value package and includes a variety of authentic polyphonic sounds like a prototypical prime mover.
